London Transit will issue a special buss pass for Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 valid on all bus routes between 9 am - 5 pm. Each pass costs $5 and allows up to 4 persons to travel (maximum 2 adults per group). Get your special pass today at London Transit's main office at 450 Highbury Avenue or downtown Ticket Office at 150 Dundas Street.

Doors Open London Contest

Each year the London Heritage Council tries to bring new and exciting activities to the events taking place. This year we are proud to announce a brand new contest!

During Doors Open London weekend we will be posting 10 pictures of 10 different sites the first person to reference in a tweet with the name of the site we post wins 50 downtown dollars! Also, select sites will have ballots available for you to fill out to be entered for additional prizes and the grand prize draw!
The doors that are pictured will be available on a poster celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Doors Open London. Each winner will receive a complimentary poster but they will also be for sale at the headquarters of Doors Open London at the Central Library 251 Dundas.

The London Heritage Council encourages you to check these tweets and facebook posts out during the weekend to see what sites will be featured. So have fun and don’t forget to check out the full listing of rules.

London/Middlesex County– the London Heritage Council and Tourism Middlesex invite you to the launch event for Doors Open London 2011 and Doors Open Middlesex 2011.

It’s a signature year for both organizations as the London Heritage Council celebrates Doors Open London’s 10th Anniversary. Also, Tourism Middlesex is celebrating what will be the 1st year of Doors Open Middlesex. Both organizations look forward to this exciting weekend learning about the rich heritage of our city and county!

Truppe Supports Community Initiative

LONDON, Ontario, August 16, 2011 – Susan Truppe, Member of Parliament, London North Centre and Parliamentary Secretary for Status of Women today announced federal funding support for the London Heritage Council’s 10th annual Doors Open London event. The event is held annually in celebration of local arts, culture and heritage in London.

“Our Government is proud to support the Doors Open London event said Minister Moore. “By partnering with communities to support activities that celebrate our shared history and our rich cultural diversity, we are fulfilling our commitment to strengthen our communities and support arts, culture and heritage.

“Londoners have every reason to be proud of our community and to celebrate our collective sense of belonging to a unique place in this country. Our Government wants to encourage the stories and the celebrations in order to ensure future generations are aware of their origins and Canada’s rich and diverse heritage” said Susan Truppe.
