Category: Returning Site |
Description
Only the sixth building to be constructed on campus, the McIntosh Gallery was a bequest by Wilhelmina McIntosh in memory of her late husband. Despite wartime rationing, the necessary materials were secured to allow its opening celebrations just one month shy of the deadline required by Mrs. McIntosh's will. Since then, it has continued to function as gallery dedicated to the visual arts and art education through exhibitions, programs and a collection of over 3,300 art objects.
